What is the new Contractor Commerce Experience?
Contractor Commerce™ has launched the latest version of its platform — a conversational, AI-powered buying experience that lives on your company website. Instead of a traditional online store, your customers interact with an intelligent AI assistant that guides them through selecting the right products for their home, answers their questions in real time, and takes them all the way through checkout and scheduling. It's like having a knowledgeable salesperson available on your website 24/7.
How does it work for my customers?
When a homeowner visits your website and opens the Contractor Commerce experience, they're greeted by an AI assistant. The assistant presents your available product categories — such as AC & Heating, Generators, Water Heaters, and Air Filters. Once they choose a category, the system automatically pulls in their property details (square footage, year built, and existing system info) from their address. The agent then asks a few quick questions about their preferences and generates personalized Good/Better/Best product recommendations with a side-by-side comparison. Homeowners can ask follow-up questions, compare options, and check out— all in one conversation.
What trades does it support?
The platform currently supports AC & Heating, Air Filters, Generators, Water Heaters, and more. Any product or service your company sells can be configured in our system. The AI adapts its conversation and recommendations to each category.
What is the photo upload feature?
Homeowners can skip the preference questions by uploading a photo of their current equipment. The AI analyzes the photo to identify the system, auto-fills relevant details, and runs recommendations based on what it finds. It's a fast, easy way for homeowners to get accurate recommendations without needing to know technical details about their current setup.
What is Quote Compare?
Quote Compare lets homeowners upload a quote they've received from another company. The AI reads and analyzes the competitor's quote — reviewing the equipment, efficiency ratings, and warranty details — then generates an apples-to-apples alternative quote from your company. It's a powerful tool that keeps potential customers on your site instead of going elsewhere. Quote Compare is available on the Grow plan and above. Uploaded quotes will be available for you to view in the Contractor Commerce dashboard.
Can I customize the AI assistant's appearance and personality?
Yes. On the Launch plan, your company branding (logo and colors) is included, and your company name appears in AI responses. On the Grow plan and above, you can customize the AI assistant's name and avatar — use your brand mascot, a team member's photo, or any image that fits your brand. You can also adjust the AI's dialect and tone to match your brand's voice, regional style, or the way your company likes to interact with customers.
What are the available plans?
There are three plans designed to grow with your business:
Launch ($750/month): AI ecommerce essentials to get started. Conversational AI shopping, online store, standard integrations, basic brand controls, and checkout with financing (coming soon!). Ideal for smaller contractors.
Grow ($1,500/month): Everything in Launch, plus custom avatar and agent name, AI dialect and tone controls, Quote Compare, energy rebates, email marketing, unlimited locations, and more. Ideal for growing contractors selling across multiple departments or trades.
Scale ($2,250/month): Everything in Grow, plus the lowest commission rate, unlimited states and user licenses, priority support, and advanced AI customization (coming soon!). Ideal for leading contractors maximizing online sales.
All plans include a $2,250 one-time platform setup fee covering implementation, coaching, training, and marketing strategy. A 10% discount is available for annual commitments. Enterprise options are available for large or multi-location businesses.
How does the digital sales commission work?
Each time your AI-powered store makes a sale, a small digital sales commission is charged in addition to standard credit card processing fees. The rate decreases as you move to higher plans: 2.5% on Launch, 2.0% on Grow, and 1.5% on Scale. On Grow and Scale plans, the commission is capped at $150 per transaction — which means on large ticket items like full system installations, your commission cost is limited. Many contractors find that the commission savings at Grow and Scale more than offset the higher plan cost.
What integrations are available?
Contractor Commerce integrates with the tools you already use, including ServiceTitan (we're an official Certified ServiceTitan App), Hatch, CHIIRP, Zapier, SmartAC, and more. Webhooks and API access are available on all plans. The number of supported integration setups varies by plan.
What do I need to get started?
The main requirement is providing data on the products and services you sell — your product catalog and pricing for each category you want active. Our onboarding team handles everything else, including implementation, coaching calls, live team training, a strategy session with your marketing team, and call scripts. Engaged contractors can be up and running in a few weeks.
Will this work with my existing Contractor Commerce setup?
Yes. If you're an existing Contractor Commerce customer, your backend integrations and payout experience stay the same. The new experience is a front-end upgrade — it changes how your homeowners interact with the product on your website. Your product data and integrations carry over. Our customer success team will guide you through the updated settings and new interface.
How does the checkout experience work for homeowners?
Once a homeowner selects a product, they can view full details, see the price including any available energy rebates and tax credits, apply for financing, and complete their purchase all within the same conversational experience. After checkout, they can schedule their installation or home visit. For recurring products like air filters, subscribe-and-save options are available.
