What are Journeys?

Getting System leads through your online shop

Journeys allow you to offer online quotes to your customers directly through your Contractor Commerce shop, turning website visitors into warm, qualified leads with minimal effort. This feature gathers key customer details, recommends matching systems, and makes it easy for your customers to request a follow-up appointment.

Check it out live on our demo site!

What Is a Journey?

A Journey is a guided, interactive quote flow that lives inside your Contractor Commerce store. Customers walk through a simple series of questions and are then presented with system options tailored to their needs.

How Customers Access a Journey

You can direct customers to your Journey in several ways:

  • Add a clear Call-to-Action (CTA) on your website (e.g., “Get an Instant Quote”)

  • Link to your Journey from an email, QR code, or digital ad

  • Promote it on business cards, mailers, or in-person collateral

We recommend sending customers directly to the Journey page for the best conversion results.

What Customers See in a Journey

Your Journey will guide customers through a series of questions designed to gather:

  • Basic contact information (name, phone number, address)

  • System type (e.g., Heating + Cooling, Water Heater)

  • House size (you can show up to 5 size ranges)

  • System location (e.g., attic, basement, garage)

  • Energy source (e.g., Natural Gas, Heat Pump, Propane)

Important:
Some questions are purely for information-gathering (to help your team prep), while others — like house size, system type, or location — directly impact which systems are shown at the end.

Customization Options

Your Journey is semi-customizable. You can:

  • Personalize the question text and response options

  • Adjust the types of systems shown

  • Choose how many house size ranges you want to display (up to 5)

  • Display up to 4 final system options (Base, Good, Better, Best model)

Your Account Manager can help you configure the flow to match your brand voice and product offerings.

How System Options Are Generated

Once the customer completes the questions, they’re shown a curated list of system recommendations based on their responses.

Most Journeys follow a Good–Better–Best model, but you can rename or re-tier these however you’d like (e.g., "Budget / Standard / Premium").

Scheduling a Quote Request

After selecting their preferred system, customers will be asked to pick a date and time for a follow-up.

⚠️ These time slots are not connected to your live calendar or job schedule inside FSM, they’re simply preferences to help your team follow up with warm leads quickly.

What Happens Next?
